Places to Eat
By Soham Jajal
Are you looking for a nice, amiable and cosy place to have delicious food or coffee?... Hot Water Beach has it all to offer. There are two main cafes at the Hot Water Beach: Hot Waves Café and the Hot Water Beach Café, which is situated just next to the main car park. Both these cafes are open for a major part of the year, but are closed down during the winter months of June, July and August. The Hot Waves Café opens from 9am every day, and has an occasional musical gig night during the week. It provides various vegetarian and homemade food options, and has created a great reputation for itself as one of the best eateries in the Coromandel Peninsula. The Hot Water Beach Café is also open every day, and also some early evenings during low tides. If you’re not carrying your own spade, don’t worry… These cafes also provide spades for hire for just $5.
If you’re looking for some delicious takeaways, there is a takeaway caravan at the camping ground, which is open for two hours in the late afternoon or early evenings depending on the low tide timings.
There is also an ice cream parlour just a 5-minute drive from the beach, which is open during the summer months, where you can find some luscious and real fruit ice creams, thich-as thick shakes, milkshakes and creamy sundaes to give you respite from the beating sun. That’s not it… you can find varieties of creamy pizzas and some great coffee as well! At Hahei, you can enjoy some of the most enticing brews at the Hot Water Brewing Co., which has a bar and a café, and is slowly becoming one of the newest attractions at Coromandel.
That’s not all… Hahei has some of the most ethnic restaurants in Coromandel to satisfy everyone’s taste buds, which are just a few minutes’ drive from the Hot Water Beach. Whether you’re looking for some local food or Asian or Indian or Continental or Mexican or French food… You just name it, Hahei has it all!
And you won’t be disappointed, that’s a surety. In fact, you’ll be left tempted to visit these enticing cafes and restaurants again and again!
Love,
Soham xx
